STRAPT is built around the belief that your client should be able to see the difference between a STRAPT agent and the guy in the rented uniform next door. That doesn't happen by accident — it happens because we hire fewer, pay better, train harder, and treat operators like the professionals they are.
Most security firms in Arizona compete on price. They win contracts by underpaying the guard, then hope no one notices the difference. We do the opposite. Our principals — HNW families, executives, resort properties, family offices, construction sites with seven-figure inventory — pay more for STRAPT because they can see and feel the difference the moment our agents step on-site.
That model only works if the operator on post is genuinely better. So we hire fewer people, raise our floor, and pass the difference through. We'd rather pay one excellent agent what two mediocre ones cost than dilute the brand.
These are starting ranges for qualified candidates. Experienced operators, EP-trained agents, and specialty roles (residential principal protection, family-office details, dignitary work) earn meaningfully more. We post real numbers because we want you to know what you're walking into before you fill out a form.

Ranges reflect Arizona market data and STRAPT's published starting rates as of 2026. Final offers are based on certifications, recent operational experience, and references. We do not low-ball, and we do not "match" — we pay what the role is actually worth.
We hire under 15% of applicants. The people who make it through aren't necessarily the loudest resumes — they're the ones with judgment, presence, and a track record of acting calmly when the situation isn't calm. We weigh those harder than years on paper.
Non-negotiable baselines for every applicant:
What moves a resume to the top of the pile:
No guard card yet? If your background is right, we'll invest:
This is reserved for candidates we'd hire today if licensing were the only gap.
We're not trying to be every security company. We're trying to be the one where the good operators want to work — and stay.
Above-market hourly rates, real overtime, on-call premiums when warranted, and performance bumps where they apply. We pay on time, every time, direct deposit.
Predictable assignments. No 70-hour weeks pretending to be 40. We schedule honestly so you can plan your life, take your kid to practice, and show up rested.
Annual training budget for the certs you want — TCCC, defensive tactics, EP refresher, advanced firearms, medical. We'd rather pay for you to get better than replace you.
Officer → senior officer → detail leader → ops. We promote from within whenever we can. Most of our leadership came up through the post.
Founders and ops leads with real military and protection backgrounds. The people who write your assignment have stood the same kind of post.
HNW families, executives, schools, places of worship, construction sites, charity galas. Real principals, real stakes, real impact — not "stand here looking serious."
Every application is read by a senior STRAPT operator. We respond to qualified candidates personally — usually within 3 business days. If you don't hear back, we'll still tell you. We don't ghost people who took the time to apply.
If you're currently employed elsewhere — at a security firm, in law enforcement, with the military — your application is confidential. We won't reach out to your current employer without your explicit go-ahead.
Email your resume directly to Info@STRAPTSecurity.com with subject line "Career inquiry — [your specialty]". Or call 602-877-SAFE and ask for the ops lead.
No. If your background is strong (military, LEO, EP, medical), we'll sponsor your AZ DPS unarmed or armed course and cover the application/fingerprint fees. Just note "None — open to sponsorship" on the form.
No, but those backgrounds give you a head start because the training and discipline transfer cleanly. We've hired excellent civilians who'd never worn a uniform but had the temperament and judgment for the work. The bar is the person, not the resume header.
It varies by role and post. Standing posts (residential, retail, construction) are typically 8 or 12-hour shifts on a published rotation. EP and event work is detail-based — we tell you the days, hours, and location upfront. We don't do "show up and find out."
Yes. Higher for experienced operators or specialty details, and EP work starts at $50/hr and goes up from there. We post real numbers because we want serious applicants — not people we have to talk into the job at the offer stage.
Absolutely, and confidentially. We will not reach out to your current employer for references without your explicit go-ahead. Many of our best operators came from other AZ firms.
Felony conviction (especially violent or weapons-related), recent serious driving offenses, dishonorable discharge, or anything that prevents you from being licensed by AZ DPS or carrying a firearm legally. We're realistic about lesser items — talk to us honestly and we'll talk honestly with you.
Phoenix metro is our core — Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Goodyear. We also run details in Tucson, Flagstaff, and Sedona. We try to keep you on a post that fits your home location.
Most qualified applicants hear from us within 3 business days. If we're not moving forward, we'll tell you — we don't ghost. If we are, we'll schedule a real conversation, not a 5-minute phone screen.
Apply now or call the ops lead directly. We answer the phone.
